Ian Marr co-founded MK Design in 2005, bringing expertise in large historic hillside residences and form-driven architecture, including bridge design. As the firm’s lead in residential design and construction documentation, he ensures that every project presented to the city and clients is meticulously crafted. His structural engineering approach allows him to streamline complex designs, optimizing construction methods and materials to reduce costs. Continuously expanding his expertise in building materials, construction techniques, and design software, Ian is committed to leveraging his knowledge to enhance every project.

Ken Kang, a founding partner of MK Design, serves as the firm’s primary client liaison and visionary leader. From the first meeting, his passion for design and dedication to each project are evident. Specializing in commercial architecture, exteriors, and natural lighting, Ken has developed numerous national franchise prototypes. His exceptional communication skills and deep understanding of planning regulations have resulted in an outstanding track record with planning commissions and councils across the state—an expertise he brings to every project.
